Chains is T.H. Snyder's first Erotica and holy moly its amazing !!! This author absolutely nailed it ...
Though its a novella, and that doesn't give you a lot of time, she was able to slam it out of the park. Perfect angst, fear, love and a world of discovery. Learning and being able to move past your fears and your "world" to compromise for the love you discover you feel for that special "one". Someone who is the love of a lifetime !
The story is so well written and characters are amazing.
Connor ~~ oh wow !! I love him ... he can dominate me any time he wants. He is the perfect blend of sexy, sweet and dominant and he isn't over the top or someone you can't trust with your care. I was definitely hoping Jesika got over her fears because Connor is the kind of man that I know I would want in my life forever, and I was hoping she would want that too ...
Jesika was getting yelled at in my head a little, i will admit, but in the end she made me a happy girl. I hate most women in books but i didn't hate her, however she did make me want to slap her a little.
I cant really say to much because I dont want to give too much away but trust me, this book is amazing. I'm sure taking a turn, a change in an authors writing style has to be a little scary for them, But TH Snyder did it and blew me away.
I can appreciate what it took for the author to step out of her comfort zone and try something new, and i give major kudo's because she did an amazing job. I would absolutely recommend this Novella

Hot and spicy, this BDSM romance will have you chained to your reader!

I really enjoyed Ms. Snyder's foray into BDSM romance! Jesika Maxwell is a beautiful, albeit quiet and reserved, photographer who is searching for something new and exciting. She meets and falls for Connor Samson - and let's face it, who wouldn't? He's handsome, successful, cultured, and sexy as hell. But his sexual tastes are a bit much for her and they are both devastated.

Unbeknownst to Jesika, her good friend Ashley is a Domme who knows Connor very well. After a year of heartache, Jesika is talked into going to a club — The Club — a private BDSM club so she can experience something new and exciting. Not only is Jesika a bit shocked by what she sees, she's horrified to find Connor there ... with someone else. Connor sees Jesika and comes to her aid when a drunken Dom accosts her. Connor, Ashely, and Jesika retire to a private room to calm down, and it's then that Ashley realizes that these two have been pining for each other for the past year.

Will Jesika give Connor a chance to introduce her to the BDSM lifestyle? Will she be able to submit to him? Will their love and desire for each other be enough to broach Jesika's insecurities?

I have to admit, I was unaware of this series, but you can bet your bottom dollar I'll be reading it —soon!

I just finished reading Chains by Author T.H. Snyder and this book was HOT. This book was so different from what this author usually writes and she wrote it beautifully. She really developed the characters so that you felt what they were going through. You just knew that this relationship for Connor was different than any other he had been in. As for Jesika she is such a sweetheart and you can tell she is completely torn about her feelings for Connor and the BDSM scene. You have to read this book to see how the author got these two over their hurdles and to navigate a relationship together. Can’t wait for more books from this author.

About the Author
Deanne Spears is originally from Portland, Oregon. She now considers herself a native Californian, having moved to Los Angeles when freeways and smog were relatively new concepts. During her childhood and adolescence, she spent carefree summers i na small farming community in northwest Iowa. After receiving a B.A. and an M.A. in comparative literature from the University of Southern California, she began teaching composition and reading at City College of San Francisco. She continues to tutor students in reading and composition and to conduct teacher-preparation workshops for the college. In addition to her primary interests - reading and studying Italian - she and her husband David enjoy cooking, watching movies (there are over 100 titles in their Netflix queue), kayaking in Princeton Harbor, camping (especially in the Gold Lakes Basin area of Northern California), and searching out inexpensive ethnic restaurants. Deanne is the author of Improving Reading Skills (7th edition, 2013) and, with David Spears, In Tandem: College Reading and Writing (2007), also published by McGraw-Hill.

What an awesome perspective!!

The concepts and metaphors in this book are so refreshing to read! I can't get over how insightful and encouraging this book is! I bought several to share with family and friends!! How wonderful to finally make sense of some of those "harsh" bible texts that make God out to be someone to be scared of! He isn't!! God IS love! He can be nothing else. And he longs for us to live in harmony with his law of LOVE... not some arbitrary imposed law!! If you've ever been confused about God's love versus his "wrath" or have felt like some things just don't make sense... PLEASE read this book!! Timothy Jennings does a fantastic job of helping things to make sense!! Some of it might shake and rattle what you've always believed about God, but I promise... it is nothing but light shown on God's true character!! It just makes so much more sense! And how awesome to know that not only is God love... but that even just believing this about God, not fearing Him... is so beneficial for your brain and well-being! Wow, wow, wow!!! Seriously, buy this book!!

Practical and Impactful with New Insights

This book really shows how your beliefs can change you; not only mentally, but also physically. Although there is a lot of neuroscience, it is easy for a non-clinician to understand. The author demonstrates beautifully how God and science go hand in hand, and reveals that not all God concepts are equally healthy. Even if you currently have a relationship with God, the concepts in this book will help you love Him more. But if you've ever had ideas about God that were unsettling to you; that you couldn't wrap your brain around, then you definitely need to read this book. I promise you will see God in incredible new light.

heartbreaker

There is a lot of good in this book, and for that I feel that I am in Dr. Timothy Jennings's debt. However, I would have liked to find the good parts in a form that I could recommend even to the undiscerning reader. I think we really need more understanding of God as the one who goes out of his way to seek us and entice us (if you will) into re-establishing a relationship with him, a God who is essentially and passionately on our side, definitely not wanting to punish anyone or to see them perish ultimately. You will find this God in this book, but the book could have been so much better!

The style of the book is not what I could call dispassionate exposition. And so one wonders about its objectivity. It is highly rhetorical, even loaded with rhetorical questions which the Dr. Jennings obviously assumes that we will eagerly answer his way. Some of these I had to study for a while before I was sure which way he DID want me to answer them. I can understand why he would be enthusiastic over his topic, but he could have lowered the heat and been more effective.

Odd, isn't it, that a book so heavy in theological themes should be "praised" exclusively by people in psychiatry and related professions? Couldn't even one Bible scholar or recognized theologian be found who might have recommended this book to us? One problem this could have caused Dr. Jennings is that the discussion of how God didn't kill anyone in the OT but simply laid them down to sleep in their graves and only does otherwise (?) since the resurrection of Jesus Christ is not only innovative but very unlikely to stand up under examination.

If the page or so of material on "Political Orientation and the Brain" (pp. 68-69) had been eliminated entirely, it would have improved the book significantly. Dr. Jennings makes no distinction between political and religious conservatism, and so he creates a lot of confusion in these few paragraphs. Does he mean to tell us that it would be better for us registered Republicans to convert to the Democratic party, that that would give us healthier brains and make us nicer, more generous people? If so, he should write another book on that subject alone, and in that book he should explain why study after study shows that political conservatives are consistently and significantly more generous when it comes to charitable giving than their "liberal" counterparts. As for Saul/Paul, if we know anything about this man's political orientation, it would be that he was a life-long conservative, never wavering from his commitment to the most conservative political model possible, which is theocracy as manifested in the political system under which the children of Israel operated in the OT (in their better days) and then again in the kingdom of God as Jesus initiated it and preached it throughout his ministry. As for Paul's religious orientation, we have no doubt as to what it came to be, but Dr. Jennings should know that people cannot be described as flatly and simply as he purports to describe Saul before his conversion and Paul after. I suspect that he was pretty much the same guy still but now with a total switch in his understanding of reality. This would naturally alter Paul's way of reacting emotionally and mentally to the world around him, but maybe not quite as suddenly and totally as Dr. Jennings suggests. I'll wait for another book by Dr. Jennings to set me straight on this. Also, in the second paragraph of this section there is a statement more or less of the type "I'm not sure if it's heads I win or tails you lose, but I tend to lean toward the former." This and other minor errors show that another pass by a copy-reader would have benefited the final presentation of the book.

BTW, it is helpful for Dr. Jennings to present his understanding of how the brain changes under various emotional and mental influences, but constant reference back to these changes as he discusses people in different emotional and mental states does not really add to the discussion. After all, no one of Dr. Jennings's profession ever had a look at Paul's brain before and after Paul's conversion on the road to Damascus. For that matter, I doubt that anyone actually investigated any of Dr. Jennings's patients to actually observe the changes that Dr. Jennings assumes (and maybe correctly) to have occurred there. Some ink and paper could have been saved here.

And yet I'm glad I read the book. I've been moving much of my life from the "punitive God" model to the "loving God" model, and this book offers support to people with me on the road.

Troubleshooting Section was pathetic

This book purports to cover avionic systems, Installation, and troubleshooting. The "systems" section does a good job of covering the systems it does cover, communications and some navigation systems, and that's about all it does do. It does not cover anything related to the fuel, power, airdata, flight control or other systems of an aircraft that are also part of the "avionic" systems. It is obvious that the author has never worked as an avionics technician and views the "systems" of an aircraft from the point of view of a small aircraft pilot. The Installation section was severely lacking and the one-page "troubleshooting" section was a complete waste of paper as it contained none of the methodolgy used to isolate system problems in today's complex corporate and commercial aircraft. The book should be renamed to more accurately portray what it actually covers; "Comm/Nav systems." The current title is misleading and I was very disappointed with this book, considering its purchase price.

Great content, dozens of typos

This is a great primer if you are a student of or have general interest in airplane avionics. I throughly enjoyed learning about the technologies behind DME, VOR, Comms, GPS, etc. The many, many typos throughout the book lead me to believe this is a self-published book and the author didn't want to pay for a copy editor. If you can get beyond the errors (primarily gramatical), this is well worth a read.

Not as adversised or useful as a practical manual

I wanted a book that would help me understand how to install simple radios and matching VOR heads, intercoms, and audio panels. Two way radios have been around since the 1930's and audio panels since the 1960's so the installation technology is not that complicated at a fundamental level. You just have to have the right information. I wanted to learn how to read the pin diagrams and understand the terms used between manufacturers for the connections. How is the 3 wire microphone jack connected to the radio and what is the purpose and function of the three wires on the jack? The book did nothing to assist me in understanding the above. I was planning to make the simplest installation of a stand alone radio with the MIC and phone jacks and matching VOR indicator. I could not even perform that task after reading this book. The book discussed the most sophisticated, modern day equipment and large jet aircraft applications that would be of no use to a home builder or A&P mechanic working on small aircraft. The book did not even have a chapter on audio panels. To advertise as a practical, how to book is totally misleading. It is like so many of the so called aviation "how to" books in that it is an overview like the A&P textbooks. Publishing and advertising a "how to" book with a lot of fancy, glossy pictures and coverage of radar and the latest integrated systems with no basic or practical information addressing the simplest of installations is a waste of paper.

Inspirational, informative, thorough!

I had purchased this book a few years back in hopes of finding an "easy fix" for my chronic psorasis. I guess, at the time, I was not ready for extensive information easily "reminded" and provided to me on many more subjects. About three months ago I re-discovered the book amongst others in my attic. Once I begun reading from the beginning I could not put it down! Summer Rain's accounts of the visionary No Eyes were so touching and real. Has there been a time in your life when you were sitting quitely in the woods, amongst the stars and feel the wind calling? Did you feel safe, as if your finally "home"? If you've ever wondered why you love fresh veggies from your own garden or thoroughly enjoy long serene walks of solitude in the winderness then THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU! While speeding our man made information super highway of technology, we have taken for granted the enormous world that still exists. We've grown so accustom to our electronic accomidations that we forget to embrace the beauty of natural simplicty. The "real time" connections we make should not be exclusively fiber optic but more importantly with our senses and each other, right? In other words, take time to smell the roses and while your there, read this book. You won't be disappointed!

This is my favorite reference book!

This is a great book to start out with if you're just getting into natural living or starting along the Red Road and want to learn more on how to do it or if you know a little about it and want to learn still more. Mary's smooth narraitive on No-Eye's lessons keeps you interested throughout the entire book. From front to back it's inclusive in knowledge, technique and wisdom. I've indexed my copy of this book with tabs on much used pages and carry it with me everywhere for quick reference. I use the dream interpretation section when I wake up. It goes grocery shopping with me. When friends and family call on me with emotional or physical problems, it's always there as reference to speed their healing... Folks, I could go on and on about this book, but I think you get the idea. Just get the book!

Wonderful in-depth reference of Native American pathways!

She unveils the meaning of dreams in her extensive section on dream interpretation. Her account of "The Crystal Stream - The Meditation Way" will touch your soul. As the last apprentice to the Chippewa visionary, No-Eyes, Mary Summer Rain has brought together in one volume the equivalent of a complete set of reference books on Native American practices of total mind, body, and spiritual health.
