I hope it is as good as the tapes

I listened to the audio tapes by the author many years ago. It is hilarious and full of very practical advice. I tried to buy the tape for a friend but could not find it. So I bought the bok and hope that is is as good and as full of wisdom.

INSIGHTFUL BOOK ON HOW TO DEAL WITH BODY IMAGE AND YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH FOOD

What a poignant book for those of us who struggle with body image in the society we live in today. I wish this book had been available to me decades age, so I would have learned at a younger age how to accept my given curvier assets and change my relationship with food. . However, I do not think it is too late for a senior citizen to embrace the principles of what Jenny delivers in her book. Many of us who have struggles with body image, diet and exercise can relate to Jenny's personal stories as well as the stories of her clients. This book is a must read for those who struggle with body image.. Others should read the book too for then they would have a better understanding of what many people have gone through for decades.

For a healthy and authentic life ... this book's for you!

Jenny's book is an incredible resource for those of us who continually struggle with our body image. Whether you're trying to reconcile your relationship with your self, your body, your weight, with food or with exercise, this book is for you. I started weekly sessions with Jenny last spring and found them to be very enlightening. In this book, I believe, you too will find many answers to the struggles you've had during your lifetime - I certainly did. Jenny has a remarkable way of helping others to live an authentic and healthy life. She's kind and caring in her advice. She holds you accountable but gives you the tools you'll need to feel more positive about yourself and how you feel about your body and self image. For me, it helped erase the old messages and replace them with more positive ones. From exercising in increments to savoring those first few bites of something delicious to always having fruit and nuts in my bag to allowing me to be myself, to take care of myself, sometimes first before others, Jenny's advice is spot on! I'm thrilled that others will now have Jenny's advice and vast knowledge available to them so that, they too, can live their best life and be the best that they can be.

Interesting Concept, Terribly Short on Info...Overpriced

There was little in this "book" that stopped me from marching over to Amazon for a refund. David presents an interesting concept- one I hadn't heard of before- and gave relevant examples of newjacking in action.

The book is short- incredibly short. More like a big blog post. David's got some balls to ask $7 for a "book" that one can read during a lunch break. It briefly touches on each topic, but doesn't go deeper.
"How to Inject your Ideas into a Breaking News Story".... this is essentially mentioned in passing.
"Generate Tons of Media Coverage".... only a small amount of actionable advice- you are largely left to fend for yourself, or rely on luck.

The last 11% of the book is acknowledgements and pimping David's own services. Seriously? The book is short enough without having to dedicate a big chunk of it to meaningless back-matter.

This book was one typo away from me asking for a refund. If David wants this book to do well, perhaps he should update it to warrant the hefty price tag.

Standing on the shoulders of giants

While there is some good information to be found here, very little is original. The author creates a "course" with a syllabus that links around the web (from TED Talks to Wikipedia) and instructs you to check the online syllabus for homework at the end of every chapter.

While a certain amount of borrowing is to be understood, there is zero synthesis offered. Instead, all you get is a roadmap that visits real thinking written in a style more often found in a high school classroom than a traditionally published book.

It might be worth the read if you've never looked into speed reading or learning theory, but if you have rudimentary research skills and an internet connection, you'd be better served investigating the subjects yourself.

Best Method I Have Used to Increase Reading Speed - A Must Have

This is the first book that has really helped me increase my reading speed. I have tried countless other methods. The authors provide outstanding step-by-step instruction. This book is truly a breath of fresh air for learning to speed read. I can attest to the fact that learning the skills laid out in the book have dramatically increased my reading speed. As with any skill, practice is essential. The exercises make the practice fun. If you are in serious pursuit of a way to increase your reading speed, this is the book to accomplish your goal. Besides speed reading, there are numerous other suggestions and "hacks" for improving your memory.
