The Best Spiritual Abundance Book

A Course In Materialization volume one is the best book I have ever read. It has more positive uplifting energy than any other book I have read. Every page puts a smile on my face and makes me feel happy.

Every question I have ever had about how to manifest my desires is answered in this book. The book is huge with 740 pages. I am amazed at the knowledge these fourteen authors had.

One of the most important points that many of these authors made was that how well you succeed at your goals depends upon how spiritually moral you are. In other words qualities such as kindness, honesty and the goodwill of your intentions are closely related to your success. Most of the more modern authors I have read have failed to include most of the hundreds of moral and other safeguards that are included in A Course In Materialization.

In addition to the hundreds of moral and other safeguards there is a huge amount of information about techniques such as visualization, concentration, affirmation, etc. and how to make those techniques more effective.

The book teaches how to succeed at your goal, whatever your goal is, spiritual or material.

The book is very inspiring and encouraging. The book teaches how to live a beautiful life filled with love and joy.

You need this book!

I'm reviewing this booking having only read about half of it, quickly. It's already changed my husband and my life. You cannot imagine the power this book contains.

We've been reading Michael Langford's book "The Most Direct Means to Eternal Bliss" for the past several years and belong to his Yahoo group which is how we heard about this book. We kept wondering why he was suggesting a book about materializing when he has been pursuing the highest and least materialist goal on the planet: enlightenment. We tried to ignore the suggestion and a massive volume of teachings from the early 1900's was about the last thing we wanted for our overloaded bookshelf. However, Langford has never led us astray. And in fact we have him to thank for finding Vernon Howard (anything and especially DVD's/videos of his actual teaching which is what Langford recommended), and Joseph Benner's "The Impersonal Life" and "The Way Out" (both are must haves). So we clicked the buy button and purchased this book, really wondering why? Well...I think the best thing is to leave the "why" to your imagination with the assurance that you likely could not spend $22 better.

One of the best original compliations on LOA

This book is the real deal, and perhaps the source material that individuals like (one of my favorite authors Catherine Ponder) received her knowledge. The book is a gem -- it contains excerpts from 14 authors in 700 pages, at the bargain price listed above. If you're a fan of the Secret, this book is better in my opinion -- because its contains detailed information rather than sound bites and shortcuts. It gives detailed information on visualization, meditation, affirmations, denials, etc;.

I find this book beautiful, fascinating, and mysterious. I wonder who the original editor of this material is. They never include their names or who they are exactly. (For me, this is an indication that they wanted neither fame or money, but to actually help others.)

In the editor's afterward, they said that the purpose of the book was to give out the original material without commentary, and mentioned the Sedona Incident (where a modern-day Law of Attraction teacher from the Secret charged $1,000s for this knowledge, and ended up causing the death of his followers).

I'm grateful to the editor of this work for sharing this knowledge, and not being driven by money to do so. I love this book. It's worth every penny I spent. I'm looking forward to future volumes (hopes they come out this year!) and will study them in their entirety.

Why isn't this book more popular?

The purpose of this book is to argue for two claims:

1) There is no moral significance to the doing/allowing distinction.

2) The "Doctrine of Double Effect" is false.

The doing/allowing distinction and the DDE lie at the core of "common sense morality", and so Bennett's frying some pretty big fish by taking them on. His arguments are simultaneously creative and rigorous, drawing heavily on metaphysics and the philosophy of action to reach some rather startling moral conclusions. As an application of metaphysics to ethics, this book is exemplary, second in the contemporary literature only to Parfit's Reasons and Persons.

That's why it's surprising that it's only the 2,000,000-th most popular book on Amazon (as of the time of this review). If you're interested in the CENTRAL problems of normative ethics, and enjoy work that challenges our most deeply held views, put this in your shopping cart tout de suite!

About the Author
Aurora Springer is a scientist morphing into a novelist. She has a PhD in molecular biophysics and discovers science facts in her day job. She has invented adventures in weird worlds for as long as she can remember. In 2014, Aurora achieved her life-long ambition to publish her stories. Her works are character-driven romances set in weird worlds described with a sprinkle of humor. Some of the stories were composed thirty years ago. She was born in the UK and lives in Atlanta with her husband, a dog and two cats to sit on the keyboard. Her hobbies, besides reading and writing, include outdoor activities like gardening, watching wildlife, hiking and canoeing.

Exactly the series ender I wanted and needed

I've really had a ball reading the prior books in this series, thee prequel Grand Master's Cat and the trilogy's book 1, Grand Master's Pawn, and book 2, Grand Master's Game. All were excellent and highly recommended. I gave them each four stars which is typically as high as I will go. Well not now. Grand Master's Mate gets that fifth star from me. It's exactly the series ender I wanted and needed.

To me the sign of a great series is the yin and yang of both strongly wanting the final HEA and dreading it as the ride will have ended. That's certainly how I felt about this series. If it had to end, at least it's gone out with a bang (and l, really, hint hint Aurora Springer, there's always room for a postscript book or two ...).

It's a gas series how the series lead characters, Violet and Athanor, have grown over the course of books. The author has great talent in making her characters grow and interact with others. Those other secondary characters, be they human, intelligent plant, or everything in between, have been wonderful characters as well - strong enough (hint, Madame Springer) that they could be leads in their own side stories, the mark of great secondaries.

I'm not going to spoil things by actually giving you any details of the wonderful plot in this book. If you've been reading the prior books in the series and are wondering if this one meets the high bar of quality set before, I think my rare 5 star rank answers that question. If you're new to the series please don't let those five stars push you to start here. You really need to start with at least book 1, or ideally the prequel, all excellent as previously noted, in order to get the full impact of this book. Bottom line: 5 stars on this one if you've read the prior books, 4 stars as a stand-alone. Highly recommended (and that's an understatement).

[Review Addendum: in the time since I wrote the above, Aurora Springer has answered my reading prayers and done precisely the postscript book I wanted so much. The new Grand Master's Galaxy book is called Cosmic Rift. Amazon says that it will be released in June 2017. You just know I will be waiting delightedly to get it.]

Flashy!

Flashy! Of course that's how it works. Just visualize where you want to be, touch the implant behind your ear, and "step into it." Quantum mechanical entanglement with an inhospitable adjacent universe takes you right there. Why fuss around with wormholes or warp drives, which we know to be silly nonsense?

I was so bored with reality after reading this astonishing series, not only with having to actually get in my car and endure urban traffic down the same roads for the ten thousandth time, but also with real people who take weeks or months to decide if they will do something (Violet's friends are in or out in 5 minutes, even if the proposal is to travel to the other end of the galaxy and endure great danger).

I am not being as sarcastic as you might think. If we are going to postulate laws of physics favorable to magic, why make them difficult? Teleportation worked on Star Trek, and the great civilizations they encountered could do it across the galaxy. Come read this novel about a future human civilization in which 12 grand masters can do just that. And try catching one of them when they can just teleport out of trouble. There are many great puzzles to solve and trials which only character and not techno-magic can solve.

If you are reading this review, chances are you have already read the first two novels in the series and are only wondering if this is up to snuff. Yes, that and beyond. In fact it is definitely better than the 2nd and possibly the best of all three, with the most character development, great and hard-won explanations for some of the mysteries, and a resounding and spectacular and also hard-won conclusion.

Perhaps Springer is the only modern author as inventive as Burroughs or Klein. There is something new and amazing on every page. And dialog to go with it.

Exciting sci fi romantic adventure delights

GRAND MASTER'S MATE, the third and final book in Aurora Springer's GRAND MASTER'S trilogy, is exciting and original. Full of breathtaking adventure on strange, fully realized worlds, it also completely satisfies on an emotional level. Characters are unique and well-rounded, and even the nonhumans have distinct and intriguing personalities. My favorite alien character is the enchanting and loyal, sentient plant Brightness Amarylla Threeleaf. Amarylla, who always refers to herself as Brightness, speaks in an alien voice that is charming and idiosyncratic without sounding Yoda-like. I was very glad that she figured so often in the story, as she was always a delight.

The main characters, Violet and Athanor Griffin, have grown greatly throughout the saga: Athanor in humanity, compassion, and sociability, Violet in maturity, experience, and self-confidence. I loved the way author Springer portrayed both characters, especially their growing love, respect, and intimacy (discretely handled). Athanor, despite his initial arrogance, actually comes to accept Violet as his partner and equal long before Violet is able to see herself that way. That she can finally do so is, I think, a great step in her deepening maturity.

I've enjoyed every book in the trilogy, but GRAND MASTER'S MATE is a particularly strong conclusion to the saga. I'm sorry to come to the end of the story, but it's a wonderfully satisfying read in every way! Definitely recommended!

Historian Douglas Brinkley freely admits that this huge new book is not a "comprehensive history of our nation's origins and developments," but is intended to be "an illustrated volume meant to pique the general reader's interest in U.S. history." Brinkley is perhaps being too modest: his text, though necessarily fast-paced, does provide a substantial overview history of the United States.

Brinkley's narrative begins in a Europe thrashing with political and religious turmoil, follows the tumult to the New World, and ends 600 pages later with a comparison of the Internet to Thomas Jefferson's ideal of a "truly open marketplace of ideas." The writing is clear and concise throughout, and major political and economic themes of American history are essentially divided into the book's 22 chapters. Obviously, much material had to be omitted, but Brinkley's editorial decisions on what deserved inclusion are sound. He has a genuine feel for both what is important and how to present it in a lively manner.

The hundreds of illustrations, including maps, paintings, and photographs, are central to the concept of the book, and caption writer Julie Fenster's contributions (some of which might be termed "mini-essays") can't be overlooked. A potential flaw in books of this sort is that overly flashy design can impede the narrative, but the American Heritage History of the United States succeeds admirably in being both attractive and functional in its execution. --Robert McNamara

Okay, Here's the Deal...

Judging from previous reviews, apparently if you're a US history afficionado you should stay away from this book.
However, if like me you've always fallen asleep in history class, this is the book for you. Don't get me wrong; history is my hobby--WORLD history, that is. With US history, it seems I've had the great misfortune of having professors who loved to dwell on minutia. And since minutia is tremendously dreary when the student doesn't first have the overall picture, it is no wonder many of us find ourselves "otherwise engaged" in class.
I am an American adult who decided it was time to know more about our nation's past, and chose a one-volume work to get me started. I found Douglas Brinkley easy to read, in spite of the fact that his book is larger and weighs more than a small household pet. I've always deduced that because America is so much younger than old world countries, instructors have felt a need to compensate for its history's brevity by weighing it down with innumerable bits of information that are probably better left to the next course level. But I did not feel that way reading Brinkley. More than once, I found myself muttering "so that's what that was about...". The conversational writing style and supporting illustrations made for, if not exactly a page-turner, the closest thing a history book can get to that.
Although it is obvious from page one that the author has very strong beliefs, they are so blatant that I did not feel it was a hindrance--any reasonable adult will question whether the characters and events were truly as noble or ominous as the writer has painted them, and readers should certainly never make judgments based on one book alone anyway. This work is really just to have an overview of US history, and people can decide from there what they'd like to learn more about. To include all the details other reviewers felt should have been in this book would have made it the size of the Encyclopedia Britannica.
Just one more thing--who the heck IS Emma Goldman????? ;-)

A bright mosaic of America through the twentieth century

Author David Brinkley had no delusions that the job of summarizing 500 years of American history in about as many pages would be easy. "Obviously, the story of the United States is far too grand and sweeping to capture between two covers,or even a few hundred covers," he writes in introducing his one-volume "History of the United States." He anticipated the criticism that would come from selecting which snippets to include -- or not. Ultimately, he decided that it was a challenge that, though daunting, would reward his own keen interest in the people and events that have shaped his world. His reward is ours, too. The result is a quick, easy and compelling read covering a timeline that stretches from Christopher Columbus' discovery in 1492 to the precipice of the 21st century. Key milestones appear as bright and dark fragments of glass in a tremendous mosaic. Written with perspective, welded together to serve the bigger picture, and sprinkled with character and humor, this is a page-turner of a book. "More accessible -- and less dreary" was Brinkley's goal, and he has achieved that.

As a fellow Ohioan just beginning to discover a passion for history, I related to the curiosity and the studiousness with which Brinkley worked to inject life into the textbooks and lectures that, for most of us, are our first exposure to the unique American story. This book is not the comprehensive guide, nor the last word on American history. But it very well may be the first word -- a beginning for someone curious to learn more about this nation that is as multifaceted as its people and cultures. The central character here is America, and we see her through a wide lens. Even the most amazing of her movers and shakers are reduced to, at best, a handful of pages. But this book should be -- and is -- an impetus to delve further, to continue this journey of discovery. This is a great place to start.
