"Just because you've never seen it doesn't mean it can't exist," I pointed out. "You just haven't been in the right place or time before."

"Being in the right place and time with Sirenali sounds crazy and scary as hell," Jayson breathed. "Why can't it be some of those short, friendly guys?"

"There are short, friendly guys, but they don't have any desire to invade somebody else's planet," I said, thinking of the Amterean Dwarves. The only thing they might want to invade was Earth's libraries and information systems. Information was more valuable than precious metals on Amterea.

"We're screwed," Jayson muttered. Opal stifled a snicker.

Earth has been invaded, and those who have made a difference throughout time are targeted. The enemy's goal? Change things in their favor. The General and his servants still have hopes of finding the Mighty, and luring at least one of them into a trap. Will Love, Strength and Wisdom survive, as they struggle to save those who are important to their cause? Only time will tell.

Disappointed
By Melisa
I think I read a different book than the others. I was looking forward to this book since I thought the two sisters would be together and kick some butt. I was wrong since when Breanne wakes up she blames Lissa for everything. So Breanne takes off but returns two years after the book about her childhood came out. If she was worried that people would know her from reading the book then she should have went back 10 years or more after the book, changed her looks and moved to somewhere else. Because everyone has read the book and do recognize her and of course, she is right back to where she left.
I found the book confusing with all the characters brought in for just a page or so. I got tired of a character that is good in one book then he is evil then he is good again.
I don't know what is appealing with Hank or Jayson. They know her past but keep saying they want to `spank' her over anything. They keep thinking they know her better than she does but maybe they are right because they say something and she says no, they go right ahead anyway and usually she goes along with it. Hank wants her to be with other men so much you would think he was her pimp. I didn't like the way all the men would talk about her and make decisions for her when she isn't there, and they were surprised if she didn't agree. Opal was the smartest one in the group. She didn't say much but when she did it was right on.
Spoiler coming - A lot of things that happened in her other books happen to Breanne. She is taken in front of the vampire counsel and fights bad guys with the vampires and werewolves. They end up changing so much of the `past' that I'm not sure why they couldn't just let it play out and then go further back and change it to come out the way they want. I didn't think the end of the book was a cliff hanger as others do. You know what will happen at the start of the next book. If they change much more of the `past' then all the books before this wouldn't have happened.
Another part I found disturbing is someone losing a soul. And then they tell the mother of the dying person, sorry but the first person who had the soul didn't die and gets first grabs. So your child just sort of slipped through the cracks but not to worry because they are going to bring back the first person who had the soul to take over your child's life. And they even look alike, so no problem. What???

GREAT!!!!
By Cheryl Munson
I am writing this with great sadness. Only one more book left. How will I manage? This book was another great read from Connie. Once again I couldn't put it down. I feel like a broken record with these reviews, but since I don't have Connie's imagination, I can only think of so many ways to say GREAT, GREAT, GREAT!
I would like to kick Hank in the behind...............which is what Breanne needs to do. I also cried in parts, you know which ones.

I would like to say, loved the parts with Charles. I was wondering where he had gotten to. Yea Charles!

Why BDSM?
By Island Bookworm
First off, I have read all Connie Suttle's published books, and I really enjoy her stories and characters. That said, WHY did she feel the need to be the latest author to hop on the BDSM bandwagon? There is enough creativity that gimmicks aren't needed! I would really love it if this part of the story, which frankly does nothing to move the plot forward after Breane's past was established, was minimized so that we could read about other aspects of this world and so that some relationships could move forward (ie- Trajan, Ashe, etc...).

Apart from my new pet peeve about every author suddenly discovering "the lifestyle", I am getting a bit confused about timelines and character names, but am still really looking forward to the next book because even with some flaws, Ms. Suttle's imagination is just fabulous and her stories, especially all the books in the first series starting with Blood Wager, are worth reading and re-reading.
